Glyder Fach

At 994m Glyder Fach is a big mountain for Snowdonia but getting to the top always seems fun the few times I’ve been up. In recent memory it’s because getting to summit has been Bristly Ridge which I can’t get enough of.

The summit is a weird place to be, with rocks strewn and piled up in ways you can’t begin to imagine. The Cantilever really steals the show up here; a huge rock sitting like a seesaw (that handily doesn’t budge) that you can go and stand on top of with nothing but 10ft or so of air beneath you.

When?

I’ve been to the top twice in 2009, both times via Bristly ridge in very different conditions.
