Yr Elen
Located in Snowdonia, and with a summit of 962m, Yr Elen is one of the Welsh 3000s. It’s certainly a lot more remote than many of the others high mountains in the area yet offers fantastic views over the rest of the Carneddau and out toward Anglesey.
When?
I’ve been to the top of Yr Elen via the North ridge twice, once in Winter conditions in February 2009 as part of a course aimed at technique on snow and then in April 2009 as part of the Cwm Llafar Horseshoe to give myself steady yet long ascent whilst wearing a weighted pack.
